Isnt that similar to a high, when the heart starts pumping faster than it should, isn't that similar to a high?

Keeping you awake after drinking Red Bull, isn't that similar to a high?

All of this might not be a high as such, but the effects are there.

AND, NO I'M NOT SAYING REDBULL OR PAAN IS HARAAM!

Perhaps the 'chew' in some places is not paan or chewing tobacco but rather marijuana. In Turkey some men chew 'ot' and I'm pretty sure it isn't tobacco.

Whatever it it - paan, tobacco, marijuana, etc. - it is absolutely disgusting. Sorry to all you chewers out there but the damage you are doing to your health... shudder...

It turns out 'ot' is a specific type of tobacco that has been mixed with the ash of certain types of trees. Disgusting. I thought it might be something other than tobacco but it isn't... it was (not sure if it still is) illegal in Turkey (this is hearsay).

Disgusting lol, but then again their teeth say it all. In the UK a lot of boroughs had to ban the spitting on the pavements as it would leave stains that were hard to remove.

I remember shopping in the bazaars of Karachi many years ago and seeing buckets and cans in the corners of the steps of the mall filled with paan. It looked like blood. Stains from paan were all over the streets and corners. I was walking in a narrow street and a brother from Karachi warned me to be careful because the people spit paan from their windows without looking to see who's at the bottom. Just as he was telling me this, a big spat of paan missed me by a few feet that came from a second story building.i didn't see any one but learned my lesson to stay away from narrow streets.
