Funeral prayer in absentia
performed in Two Holy Mosques
for Christchurch mosques martyrs
MAKKAH/MADINAH – Funeral prayer in absentia (Salat Al-Ghayib) was performed at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque in Makkah and Madinah respectively after Friday prayer, for the martyrs of the recent Christchurch terrorist attack in two mosques, Saudi Press Agency said Friday.
At the Grand Mosque in Makkah, the worshipers were led by Sheikh Maher Al-Me’aiqli, imam of the Grand Mosque. Meanwhile, in the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Be’aijan, imam of the mosque, led the funeral prayer in absentia. The two imams prayed to Allah Almighty to have His mercy on the souls of the victims and to accept them as martyrs, to grant patience and consolation to the families and relatives of the victims and a quick recovery to the injured.
The General President for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais said that this shows the concern of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman for the Muslims’ issues and it asserts the Kingdom’s firm stance in countering terror and extremism that have no religion or nation. He prayed to Allah Almighty to accept these among their good deeds.
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
