It is good that you are not patriotic and emotional about it any more, both are subjective feelings and are not worthy of any consideration....

Partition of Indian subcontinent in 1947 was based on a principle, that Muslim majority areas will become part of Pakistan while Hindu majority areas will become part of India.

Kashmir and Hyderabad were special in the sense, that Kashmir was ruled by a Hindu/Sikh ruler, while Hyderabad was ruled by a Muslim ruler. India annexed Hyderabad through a police action, which in reality was military invasion.

When the Hindu ruler of Kashmir intended to join India against the established principle of partition the Pukhtoon tribals along the border invaded Kashmir, and managed to liberate part of it.India sent its troops to the rest of the valley, and promised in the United Nations that India will hold a referendum in Kashmir and give the people a 'free choice' as to which country they wanted to join, later they backtracked on the promise and announced that 'Kashmir was an integral part of India'.

A lot of water has flown under the bridges since then and new realities have emerged, including the concept of 'an independent state of Kashmir' which is neither with Pakistan nor India, and which comprise of both Indian occupied Kashmir and Azad Kashmir.

It is the 'will of the people of Kashmir' which is important,it is their country and they have the right to decide about their future, and the best way still is to give them the chance to decide through a free vote under the supervision of United Nations. It is no more a dispute between Pakistan and India,Kashmiris have sacrificed more than 70,000 lives for their cause, since 1992 Indian occupation forces have raped more than 11000 Kashmiri women, blinded so many young men and women with their pellet guns, many are languishing in torture cells....the only other parallel could be Palestine :(

Kashmir is for Kashmiri people, neither Pakistan nor India can force a decision upon them. They have now reached a stage where they have to be given freedom, the sooner the better. There will be no 'peace' until then....

US warns citizens traveling to India could fall victim to terrorism, violent crime

NEW DELHI: The US State Department has updated a travel advisory for its citizens travelling to India due to "crime and terrorism".

Exercise increased caution in India due to crime and terrorism. Some areas have increased risk, the travel advisory read.

"Do not travel to: The state of Jammu and Kashmir (except the eastern Ladakh region and its capital, Leh) due to terrorism and civil unrest. Within 10 km of the India-Pakistan border due to the potential for armed conflict," it added.

The State Department warned that Indian authorities report rape is one of the fastest growing crimes in India. Violent crime, such as sexual assault, has occurred at tourist sites and in other locations, it said.

"Terrorists may attack with little or no warning, targeting tourist locations, transportation hubs, markets/shopping malls, and government facilities," it continued.

"If you decide to travel to India... Do not travel alone, particularly if you are a woman," the statement read linking to a guide for women travelers.

Assalamua'laikum

I don't know who that person is. Just out of experience and past history. Anyone who is strong and powerful is always projected to be wrong. Even Bukhari (rh) prayed that this world has tighten around him and prayed Allah to take him back from here.

India blew up its own helicopter while trying to target Pakistani jets, killing 7

Published time: 29 Mar, 2019

In a scene that could have come right out of ‘Top Gun’, India seems to have knocked its own helicopter out of the sky with a missile aimed at intruding Pakistani jets, according to media reports.

A little over a month after Indian authorities claimed that 25 Pakistani fighter jets were detected attempting to breach Indian airspace, sources say a defensive missile fired during the incident may have seriously missed its mark.

India’s Economic Times (ET) reports that the missile was fired shortly before an Mi-17 V5 helicopter on a routine mission crashed, leading to speculation that India accidently destroyed its own aircraft. Six air force personnel were killed in the crash, along with one civilian who was hit by the debris.

Pakistan deploys Chinese air defense systems, more attack & surveillance drones at India’s border

“The final moments preceding the crash, including if the IFF (Identity, Friend or Foe) systems were switched on or not, are being carefully looked at to determine what went wrong,” ET reported. Their sources say that it is well within the realm of possibility that a malfunction could have resulted in the targeting systems mistaking the helicopter for a low-flying unmanned attack vehicle. Eyewitnesses also heard a “loud explosion” in the air at the time the chopper went down.

The sturdy $17 million Mi-17 V5 helicopter has not been prone to any serious technical failures. The equipment is also fairly new, the first of the choppers entered into service in 2012.

Aside from looking into possible technical malfunctions with the Israeli-made missile, “highly placed sources” among the air force told ET they are also investigating if any personnel may have been responsible, threatening a possible court martial over the fatal mishap.

The alleged cross-border aerial assault took place a day after an Indian air raid on suspected terrorist infrastructure in Pakistani territory. India has long accused Pakistan of harboring militants from the terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), who they blame for a car-bombing which killed 44 members of the Central Reserve Police Force earlier in the year.

Islamabad denies that JeM has any infrastructure set up in the areas New Delhi has indicated as possible terrorist training-camp locations, even offering to allow Indian officials to inspect suspected sites themselves
