In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh

In today’s era of SAS, Green berets, Delta Force , Muslims have forgotten that they also had a World Class Special Force during the Ottoman Empire.

Teşkilat-ı Mahsusa or تشکیلات مخصوصه‎, Teşkilât-ı Mahsusa was founded by Enver Pasha. Pasha is the codeword in Ottoman bureaucracy for a high ranking political, civil or military officer. In this case Ismail Enver was a General and he codified the Ottoman Special Forces. Ismail Enver Pasha is the general who is mentioned in many Deobandi books (such as Aap Beti by Shaykhul Hadeeth Maulana Zakariyya (RA)).

He never got on with Mustafa Kemal Ataturk who was his Junior. Enver Pasha never liked Ataturk as a subordinate and was dissatisfied with his military performance.

Anyways, lets look back...

They were archers but later started using firearms.

What was their main strength ? I don’t know. If you mean their numbers,it varied from 1000 to up to 7000 at one stage. Any other strength (or weakness) I can think of was, that they were not allowed to marry and on a sad note, they were Christian slaves (turned Muslims) from a very early age, having no immediate family around them, sultan was their family and the object of their intense loyalty. It gave them a unique single mindedness and strength of purpose.

They were not allowed to marry? That's zulm. That's unfair. That's not justice. That's horrible. That's disgusting. I object against this unnatural behaviour. Stupid sultan who made that kind of law.
