It's all over reddit. One of the most visited website in the world. That was my primary source of information for this. This is the first time I am posting about it on an Islamic board.

The media already know about it. The Google links I posted are full of info from mainstream media. Not sure which other media you want to tell.

Do you know about the Rohingya?

Ok, good. You live in the West and are therefore free and able to contact the media.

Do you think that these things do not appear in the media due to a conspiracy of some type?

The media are a ratings dependent beast. They are slow to change.

What makes them change? People. People reporting things to them. People showing interest in topics.

What does the media change? Public opinion.

It is a circle that feeds on itself.

Which media do I want to change? ALL of them.

And as I said earlier, information on the internet is not the same. The public need to be force fed the issues. Also, information found on the internet is mostly met with scepticism.

As for the Rohingya.
I admit, I did not know the history of them, but I did just read up on it thru wikipedia.

I think we have both been living in a bubble.

You for not knowing what's going on in the world.

And me for thinking everyone knows what's going in in the world.

Internet is a bubble, search engines provide you with the information and steer in the direction of your Bias. If you are of an opinion then notice that the Internet will keep feeding that to you so you may think that it is common knowledge to the whole world, far from it.

Agree and Disagree.

The Internet can steer you in the direction you've always looked in. Go incognito like he mentioned and there will be positions of both sources.

Does every person on the planet go "Incognito"? If not, then you are also working on the assumption that everyone does so

I've never gone incognito :)

The point is, there are many versions of what happened/happens

Exactly!

Sarcasm aside but two people "In Need of Teaching" and "xs11ax" are having a conversation about current affairs. They are not talking about how to use the Internet (from now on) but what happens now.

So just because someone browses something on the Internet doesn't mean that the other side have the same information. Majority of Non-Muslims are not interested in religion or politics or Moon landings so nobody really cares to begin with so why would they "look" for the information?

?

Just as an interesting sidebar, since this was discussed in this thread, Incognito may not do what you think it does.

Using Firefox, I opened an incognito window and came to this site, without logging in. Yet, in the list of online members, my name was present.

The Firefox Private Browsing Window has a link to how it works.
One of the things it mentions is:

"Myth 1: Private Browsing makes you anonymous on the internet.

Reality: Private Browsing does not mask your identity or activity online. Websites can still gather information about your visit, even if you are not signed in, and so can internet service providers. If you use your device at work your company may be able to monitor the websites you visit. Or, if you surf the web at home, your cable company or their partners may have access to your browsing information. "

So with that in mind, I would say it can (and probably does) steer you to whatever information it "thinks" you want.

I found that interesting and (more than) a little disturbing.

I think we should stop expecting the arrival of the Mahdi. It’s the job of Allah. Imagine intervening Allahs plans. Let go. Insha Allah good days ahead.

But if I remember correctly, you gave a timeline for Mahdi's arrival, right? What was it? March? And now you want us not to expect him? What happened, man? We were waiting expectantly.

You owe us a Mahdi.
