Many in Dewsbury /batley /Bradford. Having to hold fundraisers, beg after every jummah and taraweeh. Only if it was that easy to get petro dollars from the saudis.

salaam,

no one can help you if you keep moving the goalposts.

you said...

Quote:
Salaam, is there any evidence to suggest the deo's are in the pockets of the saudis??
and then you responded to my reply with...
Can anyone please provide actual, factual and meaningful evidence that deobandis as a whole are in the pocket of the saudis???

it seems like you have already made your mind up, so i doubt if anything that anyone says will persuade you.

as for the evidence to suggest that deobandis receive handouts from saudi then look no further than this forum. the evidence is here.

As of 20xx onwards, Saudi Government has changed their policy of helping Institutes in the West due to political fallouts. Prior to it, it was pretty simple to write to the Saudi Embassy explain your position and get help. As long as you agreed with Saudi Embassy guidelines, you were given money.

Many Masjids didn’t because Saudi Embassy demanded certain things and many Institutes values their independence.

It was very common to get Dawah Material and dates etc out of Saudi embassy until very recently, I think it was even on TV (in some documentary).

Back in the day, I wrote plenty of letters on behalf of many Masjids to get boxes of Madina dates. Some Masjids still get them to this day.

Until a few years ago, many people were authorised to grant letters of recommendations for people to get admission into Madina university and get scholarships etc. There are hundreds if not thousands who got it because they say some visiting Saudi or Imam of Haram and got a recommendation letter. This also, no longer happens.

Brother, care to elaborate on what??? Please be specific in what you are asking about?

 1. Darul-uloom Deoband was founded in 1866,
 2. Oil was discovered in Saudi Arabia in 1938
 3. HOW CAN there is no connection between the two whatsoever?

What do you want me to elaborate upon, exactly?

In keeping with not naming names, maybe we can drop Maulana Tariq Jameel's (HA) name from the analysis...? (No animosity intended.)

Absolutely and let me make it clear again that I am not saying that these Ulama are in pockets of Saudi Arabia. Maulana Tariq Jameel Saheb (HA) is simply being hospitable and following Sunnah, being kind to Guests is Sunnah.

It’s the Saudees who manipulate these matters. When the Imams of Haram come to your country, what are you supposed to do? Ignore guests?

I am however saying that Ulama should realise the manipulation.

I think DU deoband is not funded by Saudi Arab as the shura still follows the last suggestions of Mol Qasim Nanotwi rh (I'm sure you know his will). when DU was founded or when oil was discovered has no importance regarding this issue.

See, ahlehadith sect in India was founded prior to DU but they are funded by Saudi Arab.
