Are you sure? He seems to encourage celebration of Mailad.

Many scholars encourage Milad in its various forms. Some sahih and some not.

One form is to celebrate every Monday by fasting, another is to uphold the Sunnah!

There are also plenty of rumors out there about this Mufti which could be true facts too. But these are not for me to comment on either. Allah knows best.

Takhasus is good enough, he is claiming PhD which he is not.

What would you call takhassus if you were comparing it to western academia.darse nizami of 6-8 years, would you put that on par with undergraduate or postgraduate masters?

Lets extend your analogy for a second.

If a person graduates with a MSc from a western university with a degree in Islamic theology, we are told that he (or she) is not an Alim (or Alimah) because the university of Glasgow is not authorised to issue a Dars-e-Nizami qualification if they teach the same set of books.

Takhasus is specialisation which isn’t a PhD. It isn’t a question of inferior/superior but factually inaccurate.

PhD is a specialised degree which is conferred upon by fulfilling certain requirements. I am not saying that people with PhD are smart or able or anything like that if the two institutes listed DO NOT confer this qualification for the person to list it as having received it.

No doubt the dream Merchant of America is probably an extremely smart, intelligent and capable person but its factually inaccurate to list degrees which are not conferred upon by the institution.

Now keep on arguing that this guy is a real medical Doctor

I was wondering too why should one use western educational terms in place of deeni ilmi terms as recognised by the Muslims. Both are very different. Kind of very strange. We Muslims should stop imitating west in every single aspect. Allahu alam

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته

Takhassus-fil-Ifta is equivalent to PhD and Dars e Nizami is equivalent to MA Islamiat and Arabic in Pakistan (as far as I know). The equivalence certificate is issued by hec (higher education commission).

This paper briefly discusses the equivalency of the Dars-e-Niẓāmī curriculum with modern western certifications. It was shared by Muftī Faisal al-Maḥmūdī (abuhajira) a while back.
