That's not a good argument sister. Here we see MTJ with the Shia. Of course it doesn't make him Shia, but your post could make DZN a Deobandi....see what I mean.

Basically, DZN has to be politically correct in front of an audience and then the audience have to deduce for themselves what is really being said. Otherwise, there will be chaos amongst the Muslim's and cause a bigger fitnah. Therefore, for him to answer peacefully is the wiser thing to do.

Similarly, DZN calls himself a Hindu because he is from Hindustan geographically.

He is being politically correct and not offending anyone.

He is clever with his terminology and uses it wisely to avoid getting himself stuck.

Sorry for not being so clear :)

To the sister!

We shouldn't talk to our sisters like that, young or old. What you said implies that she is naive or lacks understanding or is being childish.

So InshaAllah we will all show respect to each other.

when one asks a Muslim, who are you, the common answer is either I am a Sunni, or I am Shia. Some mention subjects and call themselves Hanafi, or Shafi or Maliki. Some say I am a Deobandi, while some others say I am a Barelvi. Some say I am a Bohra and some others call themselves Aga Khani or Ismaili.

Are Shia, Sunni, hanafi, Malkii, shafi' i, deoband, batelvi, Bohra, aghakhani, ismaili equal in his eyes ..?

Now may we get the thread back to the rails please?

The question is though Dr Zakir Naik's funding must be coming from Gulf, mainly Saudi, but can we appreciate his Dawah work and take him as an asset of Ummah? My own answer is in the affirmative. He has done what our own people have not done and what was absolutely necessary. This waiting for appropriate time before we call Hindus to Islam because Hikmat/Wisdom so warrants has gone too far and we have run out of excuses before doing the needful. Dr Zakir Naik did it taking great amount of risk.

Brother Muadh Khan believes that Dr Zakir Naik's partisanship of Salafi creed far outstrips his utility as a Dayee. I disagree with him respectfully.

Now that Dr Zakir Naik has done his bit my feeling is that Deoband should clarify their stand on Dr Zakir Naik and tell the world that they appreciate his work even if they do not endorse his ideology.

Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani Sahab DB had issued a statement that Darul Uloom is not pleased with Bangladesh hanging Jama-at-e-Islami leaders. This was a historical moment. Darul Uloom should make the same consideration for Dr Zakkir Naik and dr Israr Ahmed.

Interesting exchange of views and opinions here.

-Dr. Zakir Naik has hurted many muslims. He must show repenetence and change of ways. He has to get mature about the inter-ummah issues.

-Dr.Zakir Naik has done a decent job to carry on the legacy of Sh. Deedat r.a. This is where he earns pleasure of the muslims.

In all honesty theoratically speaking i am afraid the former sin can outweigh the latter good. The former holding priority over the latter.

I hope in reality the former is not as severe and can be mended.

Darul uloom right from beginning has maintained the Dr Zakir Naik is agent of baatil firqa. I don't see any possibility of appreciating his work.

I came to aware of his works in late 90's, at that time each year in my city peace expo was held for 10 days. For first nine days in night lectures will be on comparative religion and other topics. On final day Dr Zakir Naik will deliver venom spewing lecture on madhab. To till date I haven't seen the venom he spewd among people who follow different madhab.

eg: zakir naik says

"when on muslim ask, “who are you?” the common answer is either ‘I am a Hanafi or Shafi or Maliki or Hanbali. Some call themselves ‘Ahle-Hadith’."

but till today, I have not heard from anuone “I am a Hanafi” or “Shaafi’ee” being the answer to “who are you?”

Aqeedah:

  1. Kindly say that "you are a Hindu" as per the principle in this Video.
  2. Also say that put Islam aside and lets be a Muslim.

I believe Dr Zakir Naik's success stands on the brink of revolutionary. It's no secret by the grace of Allah (SWT), he's convinced many non-Muslims to enter the fold of Islam.

It'd be great merit to those scholars, & Darul Iftaa to recognise, and appreciate his work, but if they choose not do then hopefully Allah (SWT) does. I believe, that's all matters to him, and he's not the least bit bothered by what other scholars say about him.
