salaam

i didnt want to divert the aleppo thread so made this one. something that has been bothering me for a while recently is our attitudes about our home affairs compared to foreign. now before any excited zealot gets the hump i am NOT comparing out situation here in the UK to that of burna syria iraq etc so dont try taking cheap shots.

anyways back to my concern. i went to the demo on tuesday and alhamdulillah I was happy and encouraged to see so many muslims had turned up 9pm in a cold london street at a short notice. but what i want to know where are we for local and national matters?

we all know islamaphobia is at a scary hight and just this week a guy went out to specifically target muslims to stab. on top of this we have an oppressive racist islamaphobic prevent program and dubious anti terror laws which targets muslims. if anyone things this is minor then may Allah open ur eyes.

I was at a cage event not so long ago where a somalian sister broke down in tears when she told us how her kids have been taken away from her and NO ONE is willing to help her because they fear govt might turn on them too. Alhamdulillah cage said they will support her and try to unite hre with her young kids. a non muslim who was there also stood up and said i will help and the govt can do what they want im not scared.

why can we be organised and have the same enthusiam and desire to stop our oppression here? yes we aint being bombed and raped but i wouldnt be surprise if the same fate of aleppo burma iraq bosnia met us here. the hatred and sentiment against us is such that if govt passed a law such as ' lets take all muslims property and give it to our homeless or veterans' it would get support. infact if they even passed laws to jail or kill 'extremists only' it would get passed.

we should when making dua for the ummah all over also remember our own situation. we are far from safe. my Allah also keep our imaan and lifes safe here and help the muslims all over the world where they are suffering. if we dont unite quick here in the UK except a holocaust

Brother, hats off to you man. After 372 posts, this was probably one of the best written by yourself and I've read them all.

I feel the pain and passion in your post. Please remain positive and hope to see more positive posts.

significant changes cannot happen unless we are all united under one civil rights organisation.

ulama, muslim leaders, businessmen, politicians, lawyers, etc need to come together under one organisation and one leadership and bring their various congregations/followers/students etc with them.

we cannot achieve anything while we are fragmented. but united we are strong.

i been saying this for a long time and to be fair most muslim organisations/activists are. its just ulema who are left. generally speaking cage,5pillers,mrdf,mpacuk,mend etc work together and have good ties. unity is more than just getting along but its working together and allowing others to take over where they are good at.

rasoolullah (saw) did same with his sahabah, they all had their strong points and not so strong thus rasoolullah (saw) acted accordingly. i cant remember the name but i heard in a bayan there was a sahabi who wasnt that brave or good at fighting so instead of him being sent on front line he was in charge of reciting poetry and encouraging the ones fightin as he was a very good peot/recitor.

a few scholars such as shaykh hasan ali, shaykh zaheer and mufti abdur rahman to mashAllah share platforms either others but most are very inclusive. iv asked committee of my local mosque so many times if i could invite abdullah al andalusi, moazzam begg, raza nadim or someone from mend but they say no they are not deobandi or beards are too short. we dont have to agree with every single thing but we have to accept they are more clued on issues like current affairs, prevent, islamaphobia than scholars. let each one do what they do best. unity is not everything thinkin and acting the same but working and have respect with those who we have minor differences with.

Alhamdulillah not to sound all doom and gloomy things are improving though. if brother 'wifaqul' could use his influence and perhaps speak to ulema who are part of wifaqul to work along side with some of the groups and people i mentioned it would go along way. im asking askin for them to have abdullah or raza to do a talk on fiqh of ghusl but talk and presentations on issues affecting us. we have alot of talent its a shame half dont get used or recognition. even someone like mehdi hasan who despite being a shia he is very good when it comes to tackling politcians and islamaphobic narratives. he gets on with the groups and people i mentioned. if we are to survive in UK we have to take the good and leave the bad off people and groups who are doing good jobs

I personally take the responsibility to convey your message to all members of Wifaqul Ulama and the Ameer, Shaykhul-Hadeeth Maulana Ayub (DB). Make Mushwara and let me know when your message is complete. Make sure that it has no abusive material or stuff which is against the law and cannot be displayed.

I promise to you that it will be communicated, I will try to get a response but that's not upto me. I will make sure it gets to them.

i let others do that who are better at articulating than me. my main message is if ulema could give others a platform to talk about issues which a) scholars themselfs aint clued up on and b) others specialise it. ideally we could reach a stage where under 1 umbrella we can all work together and liase and do muashara. as for my side i know people who have direct contact with the likes of cage and mend who can arrange or meetings etc. i believe abdullah andalusi raza nadim and dilly hussain are easy to get hold off too.

iv only recently learn the hard way that unless one follow islam and fears Allah its impossible to have a good moral compass. the west ie uk usa france etc are happy to condemn russia and syria ( its maybe why muslims talk about syria so much too) but wont say anything about yemen. on the flip side u got what they call the lefties, socialists lot who rightly so condemn saudis war but turn a blind eye to shaam. i mean what the hell is up with that? that fool galloway openly supports the crimes of bashar and putin. just goes to show all men can be bought or influence by race, politics, money except one who fears Allah. i know understand why gandhi said if one person in history was alive now he would solve all the worlds problems that would be none other than our master rasoolullah (saw).

Just spoke to Qari Shoyaib Nurgat (Walthamstow) so if you boys are in London and want to have a meeting with him face to face that will also be fine.

The letter should be addressed to Qari Shoyaib Nurgat since Department runs under him and he can relate to Shura and he should also be asked to respond. People in London can go and meet him anytime

Perhaps these organisations can be listed in another topic with links so people become aware of them and can get in touch with them?

Good idea, but this is not only just a UK site, even though most are from the UK. Maybe admin can do something, but you may have to send a PM and take it from there.

I am a little puzzled. What does his job as an Imam got to do with his volunteer position with Wifaqul Ulama and his access to the Shura? I recommended him as part of the shura not as an Imam to approach the Mosque committee
