Please stick to the current topic. Irrelevant posts, posts inciting a debate or disrespect towards another member will be removed without notice. Jazakumullah
Please maintain respect for the 'Ulama and your fellow muslims by avoiding accusations and slanderous comments. Also remember that in order for criticism to be constructive, it must be channeled in the right direction. If there is any doubt in a matter, it is better to remain silent than to speak ill of another person.

Assalāmu `alaikum Warahmatullāhi Wabarakatuh brother.

I'd be very careful criticising, or speaking negatively about scholars on a platform like this. You are traversing the path of gheebah, and bhutan. At the very least you're not too far off.

Although, I strongly disagree with Maulana Desai on many issues, I don't think there is anyone on this Earth with his level of taqwa.

He has that scholarly right, and experience to disagree, and harshly criticising any scholar who he believes has erred. What you'll find interesting is many of those scholars whom Maulana Desai criticises/criticised, will be the very ones rebuking you if they came to learn you were criticising him on their behalf. Mufti Ebrahim Desai holds him in very high regard, and has nothing but steel-felt reverence for Maulana Desai.

Maulana Desai is one the few champions in the Ummah.

I have, still do and will always defend Maulana A.S. Desai (HA) due to his adherence to what “he believes to be Haqq”.

Many scholars disagree with a lot of his opinions, his harsh tone, his rhetoric, his exaggerated tone but his sticking to and propagating what he believes to be true is praiseworthy.

He makes many and frequent errors when it comes to Islamic issues, peddles conspiracy theories, backs and supports ill-founded and condemned medical theories and lacks basic scientific knowledge but he must be appreciated for his uncompromising attitude for Haqq

We live in an era where people lack primary knowledge in many fields (let alone Islam) and are desperately looking for those who practise, propagate and stand for Haqq and that is his appeal. Majority of our Ulama don’t even bother returning people’s emails or deem others worthy of responding to WHILE Maulana (HA) in his old age at least communicated to people so people are naturally  attracted.

We need to look at all sides and the full picture.

Because we have solid and repeated evidence which contradicts it.

Sometimes it’s beneficial to read before responding. I said when you “lack information”. The starting point and recommendation in Islam is to assume the BEST in everyone UNTIL you have rock solid evidence to the contrary.

In the case of Maulana Saad Saheb (HA) the opposite is true i.e. there is solid, reliable, repeatable evidence to the contrary which is being cast aside and ignored out of sheer loyalty and nepotism.

Your reasoning seem very subjective.
Whatever I know about Maulana Saad sahabs issue is that there are two points
1 He has claimed to be the Ameer of the organization founded by his forefathers, of which he has been the de facto Ameer for decades.
This is a purely administrative issue and nothing to do with Islam
2 he has extreme views not aknowledged by majority ulama which he propagats very harshly

Lets make an assumption that Tableeghi Jamaat has to do with Islam so you will be providing Islamically credible evidence to back your points.

Issue 1?

Organization founded by his forefathers

So what if it was founded by his forefathers? How does it justify his claim to the "throne"?

Fact 1?

Of which he has been the de facto Ameer for decades.

How so? What was his day to day involvement in Tableeghi Jamaat and its affairs?

The fatwa issued by deoband did not make him as bad as he is portrayed on this forum

Most of us will tend to follow our hearts, and not logic. It is just us being human. And not everyone is privy to this "solid, reliable, repeatable evidence to the contrary" regarding Maulana Saad Sahab (HA). Those that are, because of aqeedat (devotion), will do taweel (interpret it differently).

Bhai No point arguing over this here, if you try to be objective and asses both the sides and their petty claims , you will over and over come to the same conclusion as you have. But here you are dealing with not fully objective ppl, most are connected to some sides.

You have a case of self proclaimed ameer( with quiet some support) which just took the admin control out of everyone’s hands and the rest are unhappy. It is this very own tableeghis who put him first on the highest pedestal, then when he spreads his wings, now he becomes the most evil on the earth.

-Why did your buzurgs put him high up there to begin with? Didnt your buzurgs put him up there just because he happened to be from the progeny of ml yusuf? Was he a wali in his early days that he was included in the shura now he suddenly became a villain? This is your hazrat’s own doing.

Secondly the guy is overzealous in his speeches( as if other tableeghis are not) and he utters things for which he later have to be sorry ( as if other tableeghis have never)

This guy is their own product, the hazrat worship was always present within their own circles, now they are just dealing with someone who went out of their control.

So its a dirty political mess they themselves created and now they are terming each other the worse enemies of islam.

May Allah help them unite.

By which and whose mashwera was he appointed the ameer?

Shura without Amir is a headless body and Amir without shura is a heedless dictator,so both are needed. Amir can not be accepted if he is self appointed or self proclaimed.Such a status is given to those who accept it reluctantly as a responsibility for which they will be made accountable.Amarat is not inherited but those deserving can not be denied Amarat only because it gives an impression of inheritance.Wisdom, experience and physical fitness is to be the criteria in addition to consensus (or majority) of shura. Commitment to aqeeda is obviously fundamental as is personal taqwa. The elders of umma should avoid taking positions and come forward with a solution to save this immensely beneficial effort.
