(salaam)
(bism2)

My dear respected brothers in islam,
I want to know some informative comments from you all about late maulana maududi. Also i want to know whether he was amongst the ahlul haque or baatil. When we were in our madrasah, all asaatizah used to say he was gumrah. One of my teacher said to me that he spoke and used so many foul words for sahaba and taabieen. And he did not even feel guilty to put the great sahabi of rasul(s.a.w.) in kufr. He said something about the maoozatain (surah falaq, naas) in his tafseer "Tafheemul Quran". He said hadhrat abdullah ibn mas'ud رضي الله عنه said maoozatain are not part of Quran. Then he goes on saying "we know if anyone denies even an ayah of Quran then he is no more a muslim". Astaghfirullah what kind of accusation is that on the great sahabi of rasool(s.a.w.)!!!
Dear brothers we know that there was an argument between sahabas about these two surah. As these were revealed on prophet as a special gift and ruqyaa for Him,some sahabas thought was they can not be included in mashaf. But later they did ruju from their opinion as rasool(s.a.w.) read them in salat.
This is a sign of maulana maududi's lack of research. That is why a group of ulama go against his ideology.

Alright....what is your opinion?

W-Salam,

How many of these matters have you personally checked? If so, please post links so we can read them.

I neither belong to Jamaat-e-Islami nor have now or ever have any affiliation with Maulana Maududi (RA). Kindly respond to the question.

Well i read one of his book about adalat e sahaba which was translated into bengali, where he spoke about so many sahabas with foul words. He spoke about muawiyah radhiallahu anhu, ibn masu'd,imra't rifaiyaah. And many others which look very bad to me. And i have checked his tafheemul Quran where he spoke about abdullah ibn masud radiallahu anhu. And i am sorry because i cant give any link to you as all these books were in bengali.
Moreover i wanted to know your opinion though.
Apart from that the fatwa of ulama e deoband was "he is gumrah" in the past. That is why i wanted to know what is your opinion.

Also we knew very well that no one has the right to talk about sahaba unless it is good about them.
This is a rule of ahlus sunnah wal jama'a too.
I'm saying again,i wanted your opinion nothing else. And i have got your thought about him already.

jazakallah

I already told you brother i read some of his books in bengali which look very bad to me,but as it is forbidden in islam to open your mouth about a person who is dead i would not speak as he is a zindeeq or anything like that. I would say all of his misconceptions should be removed(if they were done by him) for the sake of ummah to stay protected from fitnah.

  1. I asked a question
  2. You replied to the question

If you wish for the misconceptions to be removed, please visit any Jamaat-e-Islami Office in Bangladesh and give them the Bangali passages and ask them to clarify the matter for you as both you and them can understand Bangali.

Jazakallahu Khayran for your kindness, time and effort.

P.S: AGAIN! I am not affiliated with Jamaat-e-Islami or Maulana Maududi (RA) nor do I really care much about the issue...

Its not all about bangali books or bengali problems brother. I think you have not studied all of his books in urdu or english. I heard from pakistani ulamas as well that his ideology is not correct.
By the other post was accidently sent to you,it was supposed to be in normal post reply

As Salaamu alaykum.

What we have to remember is that Syed Abu ala Mawdoodi sahib, was not an aalim he was a Journalist, educated at an English school in the European tradition,.... So what he did was apply the European style of critical anlysis and evaluation in his writings and made many mistakes.
Here is an old thread from sunniforum discussing this.... www.sunniforum.com/forum/showthread.php?22153-Mufti-Saeed...

Wrong!

Who told you he was not an Alim? Again, before insults start flying that I am a Maududi (RA) supporter or Jamaat-e-Islami member if you wish to discuss provide your evidence.

Maulana Maududi (RA) studied with an Alim like the custom of families of India at that time.

He was also the Editor of Al-Jamiat (Youth Magazine of Darul-uloom Deoband), old copies of this magazine are still available with his name on it.

The reason I am reluctant to discuss the matter is because Deobandees have nothing but insults and accusations in response to say that the one degending is a Maududi.

Not that I care but "factually" I am not one.

If he was an alim, even then it doesn't change the fact about his writings.
