praise is due to Allah, the easer of grief and the dispeller of
worries, and may his blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad,
the best of mankind.

My
son, This is a letter of injury from your poor mother, who wrote in
shyness after much delay and hesitation. Often, she had picked up a pen
and was stopped by a tear! And she would stop the tear, only that the
heart’s wailing would prevail.

“My
son… after all this time, I see you a matured man, of sound mind and
balanced emotions. It is my right over you that you should at least
read this paper, and then if you wish, you can rip it, as you have
ripped at the corners of my heart before.

“My
son… more than twenty years ago, it was a bright and sunny day in my
life when the doctor told me I was pregnant. Mothers, my son, know the
meaning of this word well! It is a blend of joy and rapture, and the
beginning of pain marked by physical and emotional changes. And after
those glad tidings, I carried you nine months inside me with jubilant
happiness. I rose with difficulty, and I slept with difficulty. I ate
with difficulty, and I breathed with difficulty. Only none of this
lessened my delight and love for you. Instead, my love grew more with
the days and a longing for you flourished within me.

“I
carried you, my son, enduring weakness upon weakness, and pain upon
pain, delighting at your movement, and rejoicing at your weight’s
increase, though it was for me, a heavy burden. It was long suffering,
after which came the dawn of a night I did not sleep in or close my
eyelids. I acquired of suffering and anguish, and of fear and alarm,
what neither a pen can describe nor a tongue utter.

“The
hurt grew so severe I lacked strength to cry, and I saw death with my
eyes several times. This lasted until you came out into the world, when
the tears of your screams mixed with the tears of my bliss, and removed
all my torment and injury. Even in my pain, I held you in tenderness
and kissed you in your first moments.

“My
son… years have passed of your life as I have carried you in my heart
and bathed you with my hands. I made my lap for you a bed and my bosom
for you nourishment. I was awake during my nights so you could sleep
and laboring during my days so you could be happy. My wish, everyday,
was to see your smile, and my pleasure, every moment, that you should
ask for something I could make for you. These things were the peak of
my ecstasy.

“The
days and nights passed and I was still in that state: an attendant
servant who did not neglect and a nurse who did not stop; a worker who
did not rest and a supplicant for your good and success who did not
slacken. I watched you day after day until your body strengthened and
your youthful energy turned righteous, and the signs of manhood began
to appear in you. I found myself running left and right, searching for
you for the kind of wife you requested.

“The
date of your marriage came, and the time of your wedding neared. At
this, my heart tore, and my tears ran, out of joy for your new life and
sadness at your parting. After that, the hours passed heavily, and the
moments slowly, and then I suddenly realized you were not my son that I
knew. Your smile had vanished, your voice had disappeared, and your
expression grown sullen. You have forsaken me and forgotten my rights!

“The
days pass and I watch for your countenance and wait with a yearning
sorrow to hear your voice. Your abandonment has grown long, and the
days have spread out. I have stared patiently at the door, hoping you
might come, and listened expectantly for the sound of the ringing phone
until I thought myself delusional. And here the days have extended and
the nights grown dark, and I neither see you nor hear your voice. You
have disregarded the person who took care of you with the best of human
care.

“My
son, I don’t ask but little. Put me in the place of your slightest
friend, the farthest from your regard. Make me, my son, one of your
monthly stations, so that I see you then if only for a sparing time.

“My
son… my back has arched and my limbs have shriveled. I have been
wearied by ailments and visited by sickness. I do not rise except with
adversity, nor sit except with hardship, and my heart still throbs with
love for you.

“My
son, whenever I learn that you are happy in your life, my happiness and
joy increase. I am puzzled, when you are the product of my toils. What
sin have I reaped that I have become an enemy you cannot stand to see,
and whose visit is so burdensome? Did I falter some day in your
treatment, or neglect for a moment your attendance? Make me like the
rest of your servants whose rights you give to them, and grant me a
part of your mercy. Award me with some of my recompense, and be good,
for Allah loves the doers of good.

“My
son, I wish to see you! I don’t want other than that! My heart has
broken, and my tears have flowed, and you are alive and receiving
sustenance. I hear people still talk about your refined manners and
gracious conduct. Let me see, if nothing else, the frown of your face,
and the features of your anger.

“My
son… is it not time for your heart to soften to a frail woman worn out
by longing and restrained by mourning; a woman who has made grief her
emblem and distress her garment; a women whose weeping you have caused,
whose heart you have saddened, and whose kinship you have broken?

“My
son… here is the door to heaven before you, so pursue it, and knock
upon it. Perhaps I will meet you there by my Lord’s mercy as it came in
the Hadith: ‘The
parent is the best door to paradise. So if you want, you may ignore
this door or pay attention to it [narrated by Imam Ahmed].’

My
son, I know that since your height has increased and your shoulders
broadened, you have been looking for reward and merit. Perhaps today
you have forgotten the words of the Prophet SAW: ‘The
best of deeds to Allah is prayer at its proper time, then kindness to
the parents, then Jihad in the cause of Allah' [agreed upon]. Here then is that reward without the waging of battles or slaying of enemies, so where are you from the best of deeds?

“My
son, I warn you from being of those meant by the Prophet when he said:
‘Let him be humbled, let him be humbled, let him be humbled.’ It was
said: ‘Who,
oh Messenger of Allah?’ He said: ‘Whomever finds his parents in their
old age, one or both of them, and does not enter Paradise.’ [Muslim]’

“My
son, I will not raise the complaints or disclose the sorrow, for it
they rise above the clouds and reach the sky’s door, you will be seized
with the evil of ungratefulness. Punishment will come down to you, and
your living be overtaken with calamity. No, I will not do that. You are
still my son, a piece of me. You are the flower of my heart, and the
delight of my life.

“Wake
up my son. Old age is overtaking you, and years will pass and you will
soon become an aged father. Reward is given according to doing, and you
will write letters to your son with tears as I have to you. And with
Allah, adversity gathers.”

Son,
fear Allah in your mother, and be constant to her, for heaven is at her
feet. Brush away her tears, and ease her sadness, and if you still
insist, then rip her letter. And know, that whomever does good, it is
for himself, and whomever does evil, it is against him.

THE ROPE
---------
The night fell heavy in the heights of the mountains and the man could not see anything. All was black. Zero visibility, and the moon and the stars were covered by the clouds. As he was climbing only a few feet away from the top of the mountain, he slipped and fell into the air, falling at great speed. He could only see black spots as he went down, and the terrible sensation of being sucked by gravity.

He kept falling. And in the moments of great fear, it came to his mind all the good and bad episodes of his life. He was thinking now about how close death was getting, when all of a sudden he felt the rope tied to his waist pull him very hard. His body was hanging in the air.

Only the rope was holding him and in that moment of stillness he had no other choice other to scream: "Help me Allah".
All of a sudden a deep voice coming from the sky answered, "What do you want me to do?"
"Save me Allah".
"Do you really think I can save you?"
"Of course I believe You can."
"Then cut the rope tied to your waist."

There was a moment of silence and the man decided to hold onto the rope with all his strength. The rescue team tells that the next day a climber was found dead and frozen. His body hanging from a rope. His hands holding tight to it. Only 1 foot away from the ground.

Conclusion: And We? How attached we are to our rope will we let go??? Don't ever doubt about the words of Allah. We should never say that He has forgotten us or abandoned us.

A friend is someone who fills our lives
With beauty, joy and grace
And makes the world we live in
A better and happier place.

A friend is someone who are close in thought
That no distance can ever seem far
Friendship is something that could not be bought
Remembrance in the hearts by saying a du'a

A friend is someone which brings you close to Allah
And not one that brings you astray
A friend will makes you strive for madhatillah
And someone that helps you to see the true way

A friend is someone that will advice you kindly
Whenever You do wrongs
A friend is someone that will not praise you too high
For that will makes you fall

A friend is someone that greets you with Salaam
Accompanied with a smiling face
A friend will make you see HIS Kalaam
And du'a for HIS grace

When we live only for ourselves, we are not fulfilling our whole duty as believers; the Qur'an (103:2-3) teaches: "Verily man is in loss except such as have Faith and do righteous deeds, and (join together) in the mutual teaching of Truth, and of patience and constancy." We have a duty to spread the Qur'anic message in our lives morally and spiritually. Our goal must be please Allah and in doing so, those who reverence Allah will be pleased. Scripture says that some will hear the Truth and then love it and accept it others will hear the Truth and hate it and reject it. It is Allah who opens one's heart..

Real love is to enjoin others to what is best, and to remember thar Allah, alone, is the All-Knowing. Only Allah knows the intention of our hearts. We cannot love a person if we fear to tell him that something is wrong, when we perceive that the person needs greater understanding. Prophet Muhammmad S.A.W. said, "By Allah,in Whose hand my soul is, a man does not believe until he likes for his brother what he likes for himself." (Hadith related by Bukhari an Muslim)

Let us invite our fellow-beings to Truth, Patience and Constancy: this is one of the noblest tasks, guides the Qur'an. For those who do not heed, Allah cautions,"Verily Man is in loss." In a hadith related by Abu Daud, the Prophet (S) said, "When sin is done in the earth, who sees it and disapproves of it will be like one who was not present, but he who is not present when it is done and approves of it will be like him who sees it." It is our struggle to propagate. Divine Guidance in the manner most pleasing to Allah. The opening Qur'anic verse gives the best Guidance for befriending others, "Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching....."

Spreading kindness in the home

A'ishah (radiAllahu anha) said:
"The Messenger of Allah (SalAllahu alayhi wasalam) said: 'When Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) wills some good towards the people of a household, He introduces kindness among them.'"
[Imam Ahmad in al-Musnad, 6/71; Sahih al-Jami', 303]

According to another report:

"When Allah loves the people of a household, He introduces kindness among them."
[Reported by ibn Abi al-Dunya and others; Sahih al-Jami', no. 1704)

In other words, they start to be kind to one another. This is one of the means of attaining happiness in the home, for kindness is very beneficial between the spouses, and with the children, and brings results that cannot be achieved through harshness, as the Prophet (SalAllahu alayhi wasalam) said:
"Allah loves kindness and rewards it in such a way that He does not reward for harshness or for anything else."
[Muslim, Kitab al-Birr wa'l-Sillah wa'l-Aadab, no.2592]

Helping one's wife with the housework

Many men think that housework is beneath them, and some of them think that it will undermine their status and position if they help their wives with this work.

The Messenger of Allah (SalAllahu alayhi wasalam), however, used to "sew his own clothes, mend his own shoes and do whatever other work men do in their homes."
[Imam Ahmad in al-Musnad, 6/121; Sahih al-Jami', 4927].

This was said by his wife 'Aa'ishah (radiAllahu anha), when she was asked about what the Messenger of Allah (SalAllahu alayhi wasalam) used to do in his house; her response described what she herself had seen. According to another report, she said:
"He was like any other human being: he would clean his clothes, milk his ewe and serve himself." [Imam Ahmad in al-Musnad, 6/256; al-Silsilat al-Sahihah, 671]

She (radiAllahu anha) was also asked about what the Messenger of Allah (SalAllahu alayhi wasalam) used to do in his house, and she said,
"He used to serve his family, then when the time for prayer came, he would go out to pray." [Sahih al-Bukhari, al-Fath, 2/162].

If we were to do likewise nowadays, we would achieve three things:

We would be following the example of the Prophet (SalAllahu alayhi wasalam).

We would be helping our wives.

We would feel more humble, not arrogant.

Some men demand food instantly from their wives, when the pot is on the stove and the baby is screaming to be fed; they do not pick up the child or wait a little while for the food. Let these Hadith be a reminder and a lesson.

Being affectionate towards and joking with the members of the family Showing affection towards one's wife and children is one of the things that lead to creating an atmosphere of happiness and friendliness in the home. Thus the Messenger of Allah (SalAllahu alayhi wasalam) advised Jabir (radiAllahu anhu) to marry a virgin, saying,

"Why did you not marry a virgin, so you could play with her and she could play with you, and you could make her laugh and she could make you laugh?"
[Sahih al-Bukhari, al-Fath, 9/121]

The Prophet (SalAllahu alayhi wasalam) also said:

"Everything in which Allah's name is not mentioned is idleness and play, except for four things: a man playing with his wife."
[an-Nisa'i in 'Ushrat al-Nisa', p. 87; also in Sahih al-Jami']

The Prophet (SalAllahu alayhi wasalam) used to treat his wife A'ishah (radiAllahu anha) affectionately when doing ghusl with her, as she (radiAllahu anha) said:
"The Messenger of Allah and I used to do ghusl together from one vessel, and he would pretend to take all the water so that I would say, 'Leave some for me, leave some for me,'" - and both of them were in a state of janabah (impurity).
[Muslim bi Sharh al-Nawawi, 4/6].

The ways in which the Prophet (SalAllahu alayhi wasalam) showed affection towards young children are too famous to need mentioning. He often used to show his affection towards Hasan and Husayn, as mentioned above. This is probably one of the reason why the children used to rejoice when he came back from travelling; they would rush to welcome him, as reported in the sahih hadith:
"Whenever he came back from a journey, the children of his household would be taken out to meet him." He (SalAllahu alayhi wasalam) used to hug them close to him, as 'Abd-Allah ibn Jafar (radiAllahu anhu) said:

"Whenever the Prophet (SalAllahu alayhi wasalam) came back from a journey, we would be taken out to meet him. One day we met him, Hasan, Husayn and I. He carried one of us in front of him, and another on his back, until we entered Madinah."
[Sahih Muslim, 4/1885-2772; see the commentary in Tuhfat al-Ahwadhi, 8/56].

Compare this with the situation in some miserable homes where there are no truthful jokes [ie., jokes that do not involve lying], no affection and no mercy. Whoever thinks that kissing his children goes against the dignity of fatherhood should read the following hadeeth: from Abu Hurairah (RA) who said:

"The Messenger of Allah (SalAllahu alayhi wasalam) kissed al-Hasan ibn 'Ali, and al-Aqra' ibn Habis al-Tameemi was sitting with him. Al-Aqra' said: 'I have ten children and I have never kissed any one of them.' The Messenger of Allah (SalAllahu alayhi wasalam) looked at him and said:

'The one who does not show mercy will not be shown mercy.'"

Volume 8, Book 73, Number 59o:

Narrated 'Aisha:

A man asked permission to enter upon the Prophet. When the Prophet saw him, he said, "What an evil brother of his tribe! And what an evil son of his tribe!" When that man sat down, the Prophet behaved with him in a nice and polite manner and was completely at ease with him. When that person had left, 'Aisha said (to the Prophet). "O Allah's Apostle! When you saw that man, you said so-and-so about him, then you showed him a kind and polite behavior, and you enjoyed his company?" Allah's Apostle said, "O 'Aisha! Have you ever seen me speaking a bad and dirty language? (Remember that) the worst people in Allah's sight on the Day of Resurrection will be those whom the people leave (undisturbed) to be away from their evil (deeds)."

Al-Hasan al-Basri RA said: "What a bad servant [of the Lord] is he! I am speaking of a servant who fits the following description:

1. He asks for forgiveness (Maghfirah), while he is actively engaged in sinful disobedience (ma'siya).
2. He behaves in a humbly submissive manner, so that he may be credited with loyalty (Amana), but he is only pretending, to hide his disloyalty (khiyanah).
3. He forbids what is wrong, but does not refrain from it himself.
4.
Author: Jannah
Subject:: Subject: Hardships Benefit The Believer...
Topic Replies:: 0

Allah has decreed that, in this life, hardships and disasters strike both believers and non-believers. For a non-believer, they are inconveniences that hinder him from proceeding with his normal involvement in the worldly life. For a believer, on the other hand, they are instances of rest and remembrance, tests that promise great rewards, and indications of atonement and expiation of sins. Regardless of how little is the harm that strikes a believer, it carries with it good news of forgiveness and elevated rank ( in Jannah ). The Righteous Predecessors used to be pleased when a hardship afflicted them, seeing it as a token of Allah's forgiveness and benevolence.

Expiations of Sins

Abu Hurayrah (RA) reported that the Prophet said: " Hardships continue to befall a believing man and woman in their body, family, and property, until they meet Allah (SWT) burdened with no sins. " [Tirmithee]

Sign of Allah's Love

Abu Hurayrah (RA) reported that the Prophet (SAW) said: " Whenever Allah wills good for a person, He subjects him to adversity" [Bukharee and others]

Sign of Eeman

Abu Hurayrah (RA) and Ka'b Bin Maalik (RA) reported that the Prophet (SAW) said: " The parable of a believer is that of a fresh and moist plant; the wind tilts it this way and that way; and so is the believer; he continues to be subject to affliction. And the parable of a hypocrite is that of a firm cedar tree; it does not shake - until it is uprooted all at once." [Bukharee and Muslim]

Sign of Righteousness

The prophets and righteous people are afflicted the most, and their rewards are the highest. Sa'd (RA) reported that the Prophet (SAW) said: " The most in their suffering among the people are the prophets, then the best, then the (next) best. One is afflicted in accordance with his deen (faith). If his deen is firm his affliction is hard, and if his deen is weak, his affliction is light. Indeed, one would be so much subjected to adversity until he walks among the people without any sins. " [Ahmad, Tirmithee]

Early Punishment

Anas (RA) reported that the Prophet (SAW) said: " When Allah wills good for a servant of His, He expedites his punishment in this life; and when He wills retribution for a servant of His, He holds his sins for Him to judge him by them on the Day of Resurrection." [Tirmithee]

Multiplication of Rewards

Anas (RA) reported that the Prophet (SAW) said: " The amount of reward is in accordance with the amount of suffering. When Allah (SWT) loves some people, He tries them (with affliction). He who then is content (with Allah's decree) has achieved the acceptance (of Allah), and he who is dissatisfied (with Allah's decree) will attain the anger (of Allah)." [Tirmithee]

Rewards for Sickness

One should not look to sickness as a gloomy episode, but should remember the great good in it. It is one form of affliction with which Allah (SWT) tests His 'ibaad (servants), giving them a
chance to acquire rewards, as was explained above, as is further emphasized below.

Removal of Sins and Elevation in Ranks

Abu Hurayrah (RA) reported that the Prophet (SAW) said: " Whenever a Muslim is afflicted by harm from sickness or other matters, Allah will drop his sins because of that, like a tree drops its leaves." [Bukharee and Muslim]

Abu Sa'eed al-Khudree (RA) reported that the Prophet (SAW) said: "A Muslim is not afflicted by hardship, sickness, sadness, worry, harm, or depression - even if pricked by a thorn, but Allah expiates his sins because of that. " [Bukharee and Muslim]

Sa'eed said, " I was with Salmaan (RA) when he visited a sick man in Kindah ( in Persia ), and he said to him: " Expect good because Allah (SWT) makes a believers sickness an expiation (for his sins) and a period of rest. However, when a disbeliever falls sick, he is like a camel whose owner ties it then lets it loose - it does not understand why it was tied nor why it was freed." [Bukharee]

'Aishah (RA) narrated that once some pain afflicted the Prophet (SAW) causing him to suffer and turn about in his bed. she said: "Had one of us done this, you would have blamed him." He (SAW) replied: " An ailment is intensified for the righteous. whenever a believer is afflicted by a hardship, whether it is a thorn or more, a sin is taken off from him because of it, and he is elevated by one rank (in Jannah). " [Ahmad]

Retaining Rewards for Deeds Before Sickness

Usually, when a believer falls sick, he would not be able to do the same amount of good (prayer, fasting, helping Muslims etc) that he used to do when he was well. But Allah out of His great mercy, continues to record for him the good deeds that he was forced to stop because of his sickness. Abu Moosa Al-Ash'aree narrated that the Prophet (SAW) said: " For a traveling or sick person, his deeds will be recorded in accordance with what he used to do when he was resident or well." [Bukharee]

'Abdullah Bin 'Amr reported that the Prophet said: "No (believing) person gets sick, but (his deeds) will be recorded for him in accordance with what he used to do when he was well." [Bukharee] Anas (RA) reported that the Prophet (SAW) said: " No Muslims body is afflicted by Allah, but He will record (his deeds) foe him in accordance with what he used to do when he was well - as long as he is sick. Thus, if He takes his life, He forgives him; and if He cures him, He washes him (from sins)." [Bukharee]

'Uqbah Bin 'Aamir reported that the Prophet (SAW) said: "Each days deeds are sealed with it. thus, when a believer gets sick, the angels say, " Our lord! Your servant such and such, You have restrained him (from doing good this day)." And the lord replies, " Seal his day in accordance with his (usual) deeds, until he is cured or dies". [Ahmad]

Reason for the Reward

'Atta Bin Rabaah reported that Ibn 'Abbaas (RA) told him, "Do you want to see a woman from the people of Jannah (paradise)?" He said "Yes". He said: " It is this black woman. She came to the Prophet (SAW) saying, " I have (epileptic) seizures, and I get exposed, so supplicate to Allah for me." He (SAW) said: " If you wish, be patient and you will attain Jannah; or if you wish, I will ask Allah to cure you." She replied, " I will be patient ! But my body gets exposed (because of the fall), so supplicate to Allah for me that I do not become exposed." and he (SAW) did." [Bukharee and Muslim]

The scholars have differed in opinion as to whether a sick person will be rewarded for the sickness itself or for being patient during it. the correct opinion is that if he is patient and submits to Allah's will, as in the above hadeeth, he would be rewarded for both the submission and the sickness, otherwise, he would not be rewarded at all; because he resented Allah's decree. This is what should be understood from Ibn hajar al-'Asqalaanees words: "The authentic hadeeths are clear in that the rewards are recorded once affliction strikes a Muslim. As for patience and acceptance, they are virtues for which a person may get additional rewards over those for the affliction." 'Abdullah Bin 'Amr reported that the Prophet (SAW) said: "If a Muslim is pricked by (as little as) a thorn in the worldly life, and he seeks its reward from Allah, some of his sins will be removed, because of it, on the Day of Judgement."[Bukharee]

"True believers are only those whose hearts are filled with awe whenever God is mentioned, and whose faith is strengthened whenever His revelations are recited to them. In their Lord do they place their trust." (Chapter 8: Verse 2)

barakatuhu,
Dearly respected brothers and sisters, please read this article
it’s very interesting and a fact of life which we will all face one day.
DEATH!

The following is reported by a
lady who washes and prepares (woman) dead bodies for burial.

One day a family called me and
asked me to participate in washing the dead woman related to them.
I went and
entered the room in which the body was laid. The family members locked the door
from outside. I was kept alone with the dead body in the room.
I started
reciting verses of the Quran and sought refuge while supplicating (saying
'duaas') until my body calmed down. Then I asked Allah to help me and I started
to wash the dead body.

Everything needed was provided. As
I opened to look at the body of the woman, it was so dark like a piece of
charcoal.
I started getting worried; however I struggled to complete the wash
expecting rewards from Allah.
While I started washing the body, to my
surprise, her flesh was peeling off her body like pieces of cotton. I quickly
finished the wash and prepared the dead body without realizing how I completed
the task.

Then I knocked the door for the family to let me out, they did
not believe that I had finished. I confessed that I had completed the wash. Then
they opened the door and I quickly ran away and went back
home.

I spent three sleepless nights
and kept on weeping. Thereafter I called one of the scholars and explained to
him what I saw.
He told me as far as darkening of the face is concerned, that
indicates that she did not to pray (the 5 daily prayers).

Regarding
peeling off of her flesh, that indicates she never covered her body and did not
wear 'hijab' (scarf).

After the funeral days were
over, I went to the woman's family so that I confirm what I heard. I initially
asked them why did you lock me in? They said before you, three ladies came in
and all refused to wash her after having seen her (dark) face. We did not have a
choice except to lock you in so that you wash her.

Then I asked how her life was,
they said she did not to pray and used not to wear hijab
(scarf)."

Oh ALLAH protect our Muslim
daughters and women. Ameen.
Oh ALLAH the Most Merciful, end our life in the
best manner. Ameen!

Source: Unknown - Sent by email

Subject:: Subject: Weeping from the fear of Allah...
Topic Replies:: 0

Has not the time come for the hearts of those who believe to be affected by Allah's Reminder and that which has been revealed of the truth, lest they become as those who received the Scripture before, and the term was prolonged for them and so their hearts were hardened? And many of them were rebellious, disobedient (faasiqoon)." (Al-Hadeed, 57/16)

Allah sent to us Quran and "the skins of those who fear their Lord shiver from it (when they recite it or hear it). Then their skin and their heart soften to the remembrance of Allah." (Az Zumar/23)

He mentioned in Quran the promise and the threat, and made clear that His believing servants are fearful and shivering from the punishment of their Lord. Our Lord, the Exalted elucidated to us that the believer, whenever his Iman strengthens and his certainty increases, becomes more fearful of Allah.

Weeping of the Prophet (p.b.u.h.)

The Prophet (p.b.u.h.), said to Abdullah Ibn Mas'ood, "Read to me Quran." He said, 'O Messenger of Allah! Should I recite to you and it was revealed to you?' He said, "Yes, for I like to hear it from others." 'I recited Soorat an-Nisaa until I reached the ayah,

"How (will it be) then, when We bring from each nation a witness and We bring you (O Muhammad) as a witness against these people?" (An-Nisaa/41)

He then said, "Stop now." I found that his eyes were tearful.' (Fath al-Baari 8/712)

Abdullah Ibn ash-Shikhkheer (May Allah be pleased with him) said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (p.b.u.h.) praying with us, and I heard the sound of his weeping coming out of his chest, which was like the sound of a boiling pot." (Abu Dawood, An-Nasaa'i, and At-Tirmidhi in ash-Shama'il, authenticated by Ibn Khuzaymah, Ibn Hibban and Al-Hakim)

Weeping of Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him)

Aaisha said, "During his illness, the Messenger of Allah (p.b.u.h.) said: 'Order Abu Bakr to lead the prayer.' I told the Messenger of Allah (p.b.u.h.) that, 'Indeed, if Abu Bakr stands in your place the people will not be able to hear him due to his (excessive) weeping.'" (al-Bukhari)

Our weeping

The righteous have cried, the worshippers have cried and the believers have cried. And in this time there are people by whom a complete year passes and they do not drop a single tear from the fear of Allah.

O Allah we seek refuge with you from hard hearts. O Allah soften our hearts to Your remembrance!

"Those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism), and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah, Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest." (Ar-Ra'd/28)

"The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts and when His Verses (this Quran) are recited unto them, they increase their Faith; and they put their trust in their Lord (Alone)." (Al-Anfaal/2)

So why do we not cry today? We do not cry from the strength of the hardness of our hearts and our hearts' attachment to this world. So our hearts have hardened and our eyes have dried.

We are distant from our Lord. Had we been close our hearts would not have hardened. So he, who spends a whole week without his eye dropping a tear, let him sit and supplicate and humble himself. Maybe his heart would soften and his eye would drop a tear. And if his heart doesn’t drop a tear, then let him open the Book of Allah and read its ayat with contemplation, humility and submissiveness. So if his eye cries, his heart fears and his soul humbles he has succeeded; and if he continues in the state of the hardened heart, let him sit in a dark room and weep over his state, for his heart has died.

This is a story about four people named: Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important Job to be done, and Everybody was sure that Somebody would
do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.

Somebody got angry about that, because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought
Anybody could do it, but Nobody realised that Everybody would not do it. It ended up that
Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done!

Think about the moral of this story.

Now think about our duties as Muslims.

"Da'wah is a duty upon every believer."

Preparatory reading:
'The Fiqh of Da'wah: A Commentary on 40 Hadiths'
Written by Mufti Muhammad Sajaad

It is the way of the followers of Prophet Muhammad to call people to Islam!!!

STAY SHARP

Once upon a time a very strong woodcutter asked for a job in a timber merchant, and he got it. The pay was really good and so were the work conditions. For that reason, the woodcutter was determined to do his best.

His boss gave him an axe and showed him the area where he was supposed to work. The first day, the woodcutter brought 18 trees.

"Congratulations," the boss said. "Go on that way!" Very motivated for the boss' words, the woodcutter try harder the next day,but he only could bring 15 trees. The third day he try even harder, but he only could bring 10 trees. Day after day he was bringing less and less trees.

"I must be losing my strength", the woodcutter thought. He went to the boss and apologized, saying that he could not understand what was going on.

"When was the last time you sharpened your axe?" the boss asked. "Sharpen? I had no time to sharpen my axe. I have been very busy trying to cut trees."

Our lives are like that. We sometimes get so busy that we don't take time to sharpen the axe." In today's world, it seems that everyone is busier than ever, but less happy than ever. Why is that? Could it be that we have forgotten how to stay sharp?

There's nothing wrong with activity and hard work. But God doesn't want us to get so busy that we neglect the truly important things in life, like taking time to pray, to read. We all need time to relax, to think and meditate, to learn and grow.

If we don't take time to sharpen the axe, we will become dull and lose our effectiveness. So start today. Think about the ways by which you could do your job more effectively and add a lot of value to it.

Could anyone point me towards halal places to eat around Darul Uloom London or Bluewater.

Your help would be much appreciated.

Author: Nu'ayman ibn Amr
Subject:: Subject: Mauritanian Shuyukh on the Deobandi ‘Ulama
Topic Replies:: 0

Mauritanian Shuyukh on the Deobandi 'Ulama

Introduction

Several months ago, Pearls of the Elders received an email from a Mauritanian student of the Sacred Sciences who expressed admiration and love for the 'ulama of Deoband. In a subsequent email, he sent a fascinating account of how the erudite 'ulama of Mauritania had come to know of the 'ulama of Deoband and how they had benefited from them, especially their books.

The student, who asked his name not be published, became acquainted with the writings of the blessed scholars of India and Pakistan through the effort of tabligh. With his permission, Pearls would like to share this email with our readers and hope it will be a means of kindling the love of, and respect for, the 'ulama of Deoband.

The email has been edited to make it suitable for a wider readership. Translations of Arabic words, relevant footnotes and subheadings have also been added.

He wrote:

Brother Abu Unaysah, wa 'alaykum salaam wa rahmatullah,

I wanted to take some time out to write this because it is an important subject.

I was first introduced to the Deobandi 'ulama through the effort of tabligh when I was in the USA. I lived there from 1996 to 2004. Obviously, I benefited greatly from the elders of tabligh. From an academic perspective though, it was from Hadhrat Shaykh Zakariyya Kandhlawi's writings that I benefited the most. These include the books of fadha'il,[1] the English translation of his commentary of Shama'il al-Tirmidhi and his autobiography, Aap Beti, which I have read several times and greatly benefited from.

I often tell my close friends that people who have children — as well as people who wish to understand how important it is to be associated with the mashayikh of tasawwuf — must read Aap Beti.

Sometimes our brothers fail to realise how much Mawlana Ilyas Kandhlawi (rahimahullah) and Mawlana Yusuf Kandhlawi (rahimahullah) relied on Hadhrat Shaykh Zakariyya (rahimahullah) to advance the effort of tabligh. Understanding this would help the brothers associate themselves more assiduously to the 'ulama; our elders still insist on this in their lectures. We ask Allah for tawfeeq.

Studying in Mauritania

Mauritania is a very poor country and the 'ulama here, for the most part, have remained in the country. A few have had the opportunity to travel and bring books back from countries such as Egypt and Morocco.

Of course, a couple of hundred years ago, printing did not exist so certain books were copied on manuscripts etc. The teaching style in Mauritania is very different from other parts of the world. Generally it is based on memorising a matn (text) on a subject in the form of a nadhm (rhyming verses). The explanations and details of the texts are taken from the shaykh and his competent students.

For example, in nahw (Arabic grammar), the Alfiyyah of Ibn Malik (rahimahullah) is taught. In usul (principles of fiqh) it is the Kawkab of Imam Al-Suyuti (rahimahullah), or the Maraqi al-Sud of the Mauritanian scholar, Al-'Alawi (rahimahullah). Classical books and their commentaries on different subjects were brought to the country by those 'ulama who travelled abroad.

Click here to read the remainder of the e-mail.
