THE DUAA OF THE ANGELS

5th July 2009
“The angels carrying the Throne, as well as those around them,
glorify the praises of their Rabb, believe in Him,
and seek forgiveness for those who have Imaan.
(They make du’aa saying)
‘O our Rabb! Your mercy and knowledge encompass everything.
So forgive those who repent and who follow Your path.
And save them from the punishment of the Blaze’.”
Surah Mu’min: 7

Commenting on the above verse, Shaykh Muhammad Saleem Dhorat explains that the Du’aa which thousands of Angels make are for all the Believers, both the pious and the sinful. Allah Ta’aalaa does not mention in the Qur’an the actual words of praise which the angels use but He mentions in detail the words of the du’aa they make.

The du’aa continues,

“O our Rabb! Admit them into the Jannat of eternity, which You have promised them, as well as the righteous ones from among their fathers, their spouses, and their progeny (allow them all to live together in Jannah as they did in the world).
Undoubtedly, You are the Mighty, the Wise.” Surah Mu’min: 8

“And save them from difficulties (evils). You have certainly showered Your mercy on the one whom You have saved from difficulties on that day (of Qiyaamah). This is indeed the greatest success.” Surah Mu’min: 9

The du’aa ensures that families remain together. Otherwise it could happen that loved ones are separated from each other. Therefore effort should be made on ourselves as well as on the rest of the family

Shaykh says that if only we understood and contemplated on these words and on the mercy of Allah. If only we could recognise and appreciate being of the Believers!

My du’aa: may Allah in His infinite mercy make us all of those Believers for whom the angels make du’aa, aameen.
