“A Muslim is a brother to another Muslim”
HE WILL ……..
Feel the hurt or happiness of his brother
Act with goodness (khayr khaai) toward him
Have good thoughts (achchaa gumaan) about him
Try to make things easy for him
Help him when in need
Protect him from the enemy
Give him good advice (naseehat)
Forgive him
Cover his sins and faults
Extend time, or even forgive him, regarding debt
Be merciful toward him
Try to bring two fighting Muslims together
HE WILL NOT…….
Opress him (zulm)
Betray him (dhokaa)
Degrade him (zalaal)
Despise him (hiqaarat se dekhnaa)
Hate him (bughs)
Speculate about him (bad ghumaani – assume negatively about him without proof)
Be suspicious of him or investigate his life or actions
Expose his faults or sins
Ignore him when in need
Fight with him
Be jealous of him
Backbite or slander him
Leave him to commit sins
Humiliate him by laughing at him or taunting him or by calling him by hurtful names or by reminding him of his past sins
Turn away from him when meeting (includes salaam or doing salaam without a smile or in anger)
The above points taken from various Ahadith
Taken from a talk by Shaykh Muhammad Saleem Dhorat
