I know you're on the quest for more Islamic knowledge (since we all should be) so I thought I'd relay some advice which I find to be extremely important.

Many people fall into the trap of thinking that they can read and take action.

The truth of the matter is, many statements in the Ahadeeth and the Quran are not literal.

When non-educated people (like me) try to make sense of any of these quotations, many times, we fall into a dangerous trap.

Then, we have the audacity to go and argue with people on the subject after thinking "I know it all".
In Islam, we have to remain humble and continue to have a willingness to learn.
If we believe that our knowledge is above others, then we wont be receptive to whatever they can offer us (which may be very important).

Never think you know it all.
Never think you are above anyone else.
Never become big headed because of your knowledge.
Never become jealous of someone else's knowledge.
Never stop learning.
Never stop asking from people who possess the knowledge.

So, once again, please don't take the literal meaning of everything you read as it may not be as straightforward. Always try and consult an Alim.
