Shaykh Riyadh Ul Haq "hits the nail on the head" when he says that we treat everyone as an expert in other fields except in Islam. We rely on experts in all walks of life, but when it comes to Islam we are content with anyone.
When it comes to a doctor or mechanic we will not only blindly follow them, but we will put our lives in their hands, even though they may be non Muslims.
Why are we hypocritical when it comes to Islamic scholars?
