| An Amazing Answer
A person took an oath to perform such an 'ibadah (form of worship) which no other person in the entire world could perform at the same time as himself. If he did not succeed in performing such an 'ibadah, his wife would be irrevocably divorced from him. The 'Ulamaa of the time were presented with the case and requested to provide a solution to his dilemma. They were all astounded and could not think of any such act of worship.
When Shaykh 'Abdul Qadir Jilani (رحمه الله), the sage of the age, was approached he immediately explained, "The Mataf around the Ka'bah should be vacated and he should be allowed to perform seven Tawafs individually."
The 'Ulamaa were astonished with the answer and agreed that Tawaf was the only 'ibadah through which his oath could be fulfilled, since it may only be performed at one location on earth. [Jawahir Pare, vol 3, p 280; Tarikh Da'wato 'Azimat]
May Allaah (سبحانه و تعالى) reward the learned scholars of Islaam for their dedication, sincerity and tremendous service to the Muslim Ummah by providing amazing and practical solutions to complex issues.
A husband should be cautious of the words that he utters. Words take a few seconds to utter, but often have far-reaching implications. [Pearls from the Path, volume 3]
